oltre
I built oltre around the idea that many developers might not need a fresh ephemeral sandbox for every task. A long-running development box can keep projects and agent sessions available while work runs in the background.
oltre turns a personal Linux box into an always-on development box for coding agents. Sessions and project environments stay on the machine, so work can continue when I close my laptop and I can pick it up from another device, including my phone.
It supports Claude Code, Codex, fx and Pi through a shared terminal or an Agent Client Protocol connection.
Sandboxing
Each project gets its own workspace and home folder. Anthropic's Sandbox Runtime restricts filesystem and network access, and the service checks the sandbox boundaries before starting agent work.
I wanted existing tools to authenticate without giving their credentials to agent processes. Agents receive placeholders, while a proxy supplies real credentials only to approved destinations. A protocol relay also protects the connecting client by checking messages in both directions.
